Mara B. Edmunds, MA, completed a clinical mental health counseling internship with MHMR of Tarrant County. She holds an associate’s degree in behavioral science, a bachelor’s degree in sociology, and a dual-track master’s degree in marriage & family therapy and professional counseling. Mara’s professional experience includes working with individuals, couples and families, and facilitating groups and classes for addiction recovery and survivors of trauma.
Mara is passionate about utilizing evidence-based interventions in helping individuals, couples, and families move past some of life's most complicated obstacles.

She is also an affiliate member of the Trauma Research Foundation (founded by Harvard psychiatrist Bessel van der Kolk, M.D.), and she serves on the advisory council for Colorful Bridges, a nonprofit organization based in Boston, MA. Her professional experience includes working in drug rehabilitation, with veterans and active military, with survivors of trauma, and with couples and families in crisis.
